The BOM generated from the harness drawing

Harnessora generates a component and material list from the harness drawing. Every line item on the BOM — connectors, terminals, splices, seals, and wire — traces back to something the engineer drew, so the component picture stays anchored to the drawing rather than a separate spreadsheet.

From drawing to component list

The connectors on the BOM are the connectors called out on the drawing. The wire line items reflect the wires the engineer drew — their gauges and colors. Because the BOM is generated rather than re-typed, the estimator and the production manager see the same component picture the engineer drew.

Who uses it

Estimator

Works from the BOM when building the quote, starting from the same component facts the shop will build from.

Production manager

Sees the component picture of the harness at a glance, derived from the drawing rather than maintained by hand.

What the BOM is and is not

The BOM is the component picture generated from the drawing: connector housings, crimp terminals for occupied positions, and wire by gauge. It is a component list, not a purchasing system: sourcing choices, supplier relationships, and inventory movements happen in the shop's existing systems, not on the BOM itself. Custom component fields beyond those shown — can be added when a shop's needs are known.
